Roberts NFL Divisional Playoff Selections: Patriots Look Like the Best Bet of Weekend

Here are my Pro Football plays for this week:

Ravens should compete well with the Steelers, again
Saturday, January 15
Ravens +3 ½ @ Pittsburgh
Getting three points, plus a hook, in any game between these two has proven to be a winning combination as five of their last seven meetings have been three point games. Though the Steelers are unbeaten when having a week off before any playoff game with Big Ben, I think the wild card week provides invaluable momentum for Baltimore this week. A little too chicken to take the money line, but love the value of getting the points.

Falcons -1 ½ vs. Packers
ATL/GB OVER 43 ½
I expect this to be the most competitive high scoring game of the weekend with the Falcons showing why they are the top seed in the NFC by winning 13 games. Atlanta is virtually unbeatable at home, going 20-2 during Matt Ryan's career. I had made this game Falcons -5 based on my ratings.

Sunday, January 16
Patriots -8 ½ vs. Jets
The Jets are doing what they do best, which is trash talking, but they’re doing it at the absolute worst time, targeting the worst choice. Maybe if Tom Brady had been in a slump with his offense not in sync, the tactics may work, but picking on a player who hasn’t thrown an interception since week 6, whose offense has scored 30 or more points eight straight games, including 45 against the Jets, doesn’t seem wise. Look for Brady to respond back big with scoreboard trash talk.

No real opinion on the Bears game. Would love to take the Bears against the awful Seattle defense, but I can't seem to get Jay Cutler's must win games with Denver out of my head. Although the Seahawks did win at Chicago in week 6, they have looked like the worst team in football since then. The win over the Saints last week is more about the Saints being pretty soft and playing to the level of their opponents all season.
